From Player to Coach

Golf has been a major part of my life for more than 20 years. What began as a love for the game grew into a competitive career that took me from high school golf to the collegiate level, where I earned multiple wins and NAIA All-American honors, and eventually into professional golf.

My path, however, wasn't always straightforward. Multiple injuries throughout my collegiate career forced me to continually adapt and eventually made pursuing professional golf long-term unsustainable. It was a difficult shift, but one that challenged me to rethink what I wanted my future in the game to look like.

What I discovered was that my passion for golf extended far beyond the desire to get as good as I could get. Helping another golfer improve, gain confidence, or accomplish something they didn't think was possible could be just as rewarding as competing myself.

Over the years, I've built a career in golf from several different perspectives. I've worked as an Assistant Golf Professional at some of the best private clubs in Houston, spent more than a decade teaching the game, and now also coach at the collegiate level. I've had the opportunity to work with golfers at nearly every stage—from kids holding a club for the first time to competitive juniors, collegiate athletes, accomplished players, and adults who simply want to play better and enjoy golf more.

Countless experiences as a player, competitor, instructor, and coach have shaped the way I teach today. I'm technical when technical is needed and data-driven when data is helpful, but never at the expense of understanding the individual standing in front of me.

My Approach to Coaching

I believe great coaching starts with understanding the person before trying to change the swing.

How do you move? How do you learn? What are you trying to accomplish? How much time can you realistically practice? What happens to your game under pressure?

Technology like TrackMan and Video gives us valuable information, but data is only useful when we know what to do with it. My job is to simplify that information, identify what matters most, and give you a clear path forward.

Experience as a Playing Pro

Competing at the professional level has given me firsthand insight into what it takes to succeed in high-pressure, elite golf environments. I’ve experienced the demands of tournament play, the mental and physical discipline required to perform consistently, and the strategies that separate top-level players from the rest.

This experience allows me to coach with a deep understanding of course management, competitive mindset, and advanced skill development—essential elements for junior golfers who aspire to play at the collegiate or professional level. I am incredibly passionate about strong fundamentals. IMy goal is for players to develop the mindset, strategy, and preparation habits that elite players rely on to win.
